Governor Andy Beshear will be in Floyd, Knott, Perry and Breathitt counties today to commemorate the two-year anniversary of the devastating Eastern Kentucky flood and
highlight some of the progress being made on recovery as well as new housing and
infrastructure.
In a statement his office says FEMA has approved Individual Assistance for 8,775 survivors totaling more than $110 million.
FEMA has also provided more than $84 million to acquire over 500 homes to help families move out of flood prone areas.
Team Kentucky has so far announced seven high-ground communities in four counties
that will bring over 500 new homes.
