Former Pike County Employee Facing Charges After Monday Incident

A former Pike County employee is facing charges including terroristic threatening and animal cruelty for an incident that happened Monday outside the office of Pike County Judge Executive Ray Jones. WYMT reports Andrew Smith of Virgie is alleged to have been actively aggressive and threatening coworkers before then allegedly shooting a cat that he had in his car. Officials confirm he was a county employee, although they did not specify his job, and he was reportedly fired on the spot as he was being arrested.
