A former Letcher County Deputy and Whitesburg Police Officer has passed away. Sheriff Mickey Stines says Sean Michael Blair passed away at his home in Dry Fork on Sunday at the age of 52. Sheriff Stines says Blair was a lifelong public servant, having joined the Sheriff’s Office Explorer Program at the age of 19 and he served as a dispatcher and as a deputy under former Sheriff Steve Banks. Blair also worked for UNITE doing undercover work in multiple counties and was a part of the Letcher County Rangers. He leaves behind four children and one grandchild. There is visitation Thursday afternoon at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel from 3-6pm.
