A former Letcher County deputy sheriff who pleaded guilty in October to charges related to imposing sex on women who were on home confinement has been sentenced to seven years in prison. A Pike County Circuit Court Judge sentenced Ben Fields based on multiple charges including rape, tampering with a monitoring device and perjury. Fields was indicted by a grand jury in 2022 after several women filed lawsuits against him alleging, he promised to remove their ankle monitors in exchange for sex. WYMT reports after his release from prison Fields will have to register as a sex offender.
