Local fire and emergency officials remind you to be extra careful as fire season continues.
Perry County Emergency Management director Jerry Stacy tells the Hazard Herald with drought conditions persisting, low humidity and the autumn leaves falling it does not take much for a fire to take off.
He reminds you to check with the Division of Forestry regarding what you can and cannot do.
Earlier this month a Perry County man was charged with violating the burn law after Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources Officers investigating a forest fire found it started as a backyard fire.
