If you live in Floyd County you have a unique opportunity to learn how to respond to a variety of emergency situations with a simulator coming to the Sheriff’s Department next week.
Deputy Randy Powers will be offering the training using what’s called a Multiple Interactive Learning Objective which is coming on loan from the Kentucky Association of Counties from August 5 through August 15.
Deputy Powers tells WYMT the scenarios range from conversational confrontations to activate shooters and help you to learn how to defuse high pressure situations while keeping safety at the forefront.
He says they are hoping to bring in groups such as churches and businesses to train together.
