A new economic impact study shows Hazard Community & Technical College contributed to adding $81.8 million in total income to the region last year. The study done by Lightcast measured how an institution affects the local economy. They looked at HCTC for the 2022-2023 school year with $12.4 million in income going to the school’s 279 employees in benefits and wages and another $65.5 million in income for alumni in more than 1,100 jobs in the region, holding one in every 21 jobs.
