A motion filed by the attorney of the man accused of murdering a Prestonsburg woman last year indicates the defense wants the prosecution to look at another suspect.
MK McKinney has been charged with murder in the July 2023 stabbing death of Amber Spradlin which occurred at McKinney’s father’s home.
The motion, which is posted on Mountain Top News, indicates the defense attorney wants to obtain the full polygraph results for another person who was at the home that night because they believe he gave “inconsistent and misleading statements” which could point to his own guilt.
The judge will reportedly consider the motion at a pretrial conference later this month.
