PIKEVILLE, Ky.(Aug. 26, 2024) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises the public of daytime closures for drilling repairs in Letcher County.
Crews will repair multiple sites along KY 931 North (Sandlick Mountain) near MP 14.8 just below the top of the hill on the Sandlick side. The closures will last from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm daily Aug. 27 through 29. During this time, crews drill and repair embankments. Due to the narrow road widths and size of the drilling equipment, a daytime closure is needed for this type of repair.
Emergency Vehicles and School Buses will be accommodated. All other motorists will need to detour using KY 1148 to KY 15 during working hours. Please exercise caution in work zones and follow posted signage.
Schedules are based on weather conditions. Blue Rock. has been contracted to perform the work.
