The Pikeville Community Foundation has awarded $60,000 to several local nonprofits to help with food security in Pike County.
The Appalachian News Express reports recent recipients include Helping Hands of Phelps, Faith Life Ministries, Grace Community Kitchen, Pikeville Community Kitchen, Church of God Militant Pillar & Ground of Truth, Handfuls on Purpose, East Kentucky Dream Center and Elkhorn Community Church Backpack Program, all of which work to improve access to nutritionally adequate food.
