The City of Fleming-Neon is getting a $5 million grant for the next phase in upgrading the city’s water system.
At the latest city county meeting, an official with the Kentucky River Area Development District said the grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture will fund Phase II of the city’s waterline replacement project which covers Fleming as well as Main Street in Neon.
The Mountain Eagle reports the Phase I waterline work in McRoberts is still ongoing and has had some delays including a recent issue with a faulty new pressure release valve which they are waiting for the engineer to fix.
