It’s a big weekend in Letcher County with both Whitesburg Mayfest and Blackey Days. Blackey Days is today until 6pm and Saturday from 8am to 7pm on the Main Street Loop with live music, food and craft booths, and on Saturday a cornhole tournament and the Blackey Missionary Baptist Church Annual Blackey Days Breakfast Feast. Plus Appalachian Regional Healthcare and Mountain Comprehensive Health Corporation will be there with health information. Mayfest is Saturday from 4pm-9pm on Main Street in Downtown Whitesburg with live music, food and lots of vendors. Police remind you that Main will be closed to traffic from 3pm-9pm which includes moving any parked cars. Also tomorrow is the Grey Matters 5K and 10K starting at 8am and the Farmers Market will be open although on a one-hour delay starting at 10am in support of the Race.
