Belfry To Take Over Another Fire Department in Pike County

Starting at the beginning of the New Year, the Belfry Volunteer Fire Department is going to be taking over the day-to-day operations of the Turkey Creek Volunteer Fire Department. Turkey Creek Chief Tim Cline tells the Appalachian News Express his department has too few firefighters to continue operating under state regulations. The addition of Turkey Creek adds about 12 square miles to Belfry’s coverage area.
