Belfry Middle School Wins Safety Award in National Competition

Congratulations are going out to Belfry Middle School for winning first place in an Innovation and Inventions competition at the annual Technology Student Association Conference in Orlando earlier this month.

The students were asked to create a safety product and the Belfry competitors invented a door jamming device to prevent intruders into classrooms.

The students tell WYMT they wanted to make it durable but also easy for anyone to use and while they were happy with the product’s outcome, they were pretty shocked to take first place.

The students say they couldn’t have done it without their teachers and advisors.

Belfry Middle School’s TSA Advisor is Andrew Baldwin.

And yes, while in Orlando, the kids got to go to Universal Studios.
