One Arlie Boggs Elementary School student remains in the hospital following Friday afternoon’s crash between a school bus and a coal truck on KY-932 near US 119. Kentucky State Police are still looking into the crash that sent the bus rolling down to the edge of the river. The 22 students on board and the driver were taken to Whitesburg ARH with most released a short time later. But one first-grader had to be transferred to UK Hospital with serious lacerations to his face. On Saturday the school posted an update from his mom saying he had 4-hour surgery to repair muscle, nerves and his ear canal, and he will be in the hospital for a few days.
