After Mistrial, Special Prosecutor Intends To Retry Pike County Murder Case

Prosecutors say they will try again to bring a murder case against former Assistant Pike County Attorney Donald Deskins who is accused of killing his wife and tampering with evidence in 2021.

Last week the judge in his case declared a mistrial after the jury could not reach a unanimous verdict.

The special prosecutor in the case, brought in from outside the county, tells Mountain Top News that unless Deskins decides to make a plea deal, he will bring the case back to court later this year.
