The former Whitesburg High School English building is still helping people grow but now in a new way.
Next month the old school will reopen as transitional housing for men recovering from addiction.
The Mountain Eagle reports Mountain Comprehensive Health Corporation has converted the building into 22 efficiency apartments intended for men coming straight out of inpatient rehab.
Officials say the men must have jobs or be enrolled in an educational program to stay there but MCHC will help them with that.
