Burgess Van Napier

Burgess Van Napier, age 73 of Whitesburg, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at the UK Medical Center in Lexington.

He is survived by his wife: Ava Katherine Napier; 3 brothers: Johnny Wayne Napier of Little Cowan, Kyle Lynn Napier of Jenkins, and Mark Allen Napier of Mayking and 1 sister: Terena Ann Profitt of Campbranch.

Funeral services for Burgess Van Napier will be held at 11:00am Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Johnny Mullins officiating. 

Visitation will be from 6:00pm-9:00pm Friday, October 18, 2024, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. 

Burial will follow in the Fields and Day Cemetery at Whitesburg.  

The Letcher Funeral Home of Whitesburg is in charge of the arrangements.

Ollie Mae Adams

Ollie Mae Adams, age 65, of Whitesburg, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at the Whitesburg ARH. 

She is survived by her mother: Nellie Eldridge Slone; her husband: Douglas Adams; 2 daughters: Shirlyn Perkins of Hallie and Sheena Grogan of Whitesburg; 2 brothers: Alvin Slone of Breathitt County and Jason Slone of Jeremiah; 2 sisters: Lora Quillen of Roxana and Fayetta Keel of Millstone and 4 grandchildren.  

Funeral services for Ollie Mae Adams will be held at 1:00pm Friday, October 18, 2024 at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. 

Visitation will be after 6:00pm this evening, Thursday, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. 

The Letcher Funeral Home of Whitesburg is in charge of the arrangements.

Jason Matthew Blair

Jason Matthew Blair, age 47, of Partridge passed away Monday, October 14, 2024, at the Pikeville Medical Center.

He is survived by his mother: Linda Jenkins Blair; his grandmother: Madge Jenkins; his long-time girlfriend, Amanda Gilbert; his two sisters, Chrissy Burris and Amy Blair Prewitt, all of Partridge; two nieces: Lexie Burris and Ava Prewitt; three nephews: Logan Burris; Trevor Prewitt; and Ethan Hogg.

Graveside services for Jason Matthew Blair will be held at 2:00pm this afternoon, Thursday, October 17, 2024, at the Jenkins Family Cemetery in Partridge with Michael Blair officiating. 

The Tri City Funeral Home of Benham is in charge of the arrangements.

L.C. Slone, age 77, of Redfox, formerly of Pinetop, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at his residence.

He is survived by:

7 Great Grandchildren 

1 Brother – Uriah Slone

3 Sisters – Shirley Adams, Lillie Bentley and Arda White

Funeral services for L.C. Slone will be held at 11:00am on Friday, October 18, 2024 at Omaha Bible Church with Jordan Honeycutt officiating. 

Burial will follow at the Doug Bates Cemetery at Pinetop.

Visitation will be held at the Hindman Funeral Services Chapel this evening, Thursday, from 6:00 to 9:00pm with additional services this evening at 7:00pm.  

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Bluegrass Care Navigators.
