Tomorrow is Kentucky High Attendance Day in which schools actually compete for the highest attendance with some rewards from the Kentucky Directors of Pupil Personnel for the highest percentage of students present that day.
Letcher County has been putting a particular emphasis on attendance this school year with a district-wide attendance campaign with the motto, “Show Up, Stand Out, Succeed”.
Last week two Whitesburg schools got a visit from Miss Kentucky, Chapel Tinius, who reminded the kids about the impact that consistent school attendance has on their future.
