Work has started on upgrades to Kentucky 15 including near a dam that nearly overflowed in the July 2022 flood.
Last week Governor Andy Beshear announced the nearly $50 million project to upgrade KY 15 in Breathitt County.
The project will add lanes and sidewalks to the busy stretch of the corridor within the city limits of Jackson and they say it will further strengthen and stabilize the dam that holds Panbowl Lake.
Last year crews also did a $6.7 million concrete stabilization of the dam.
