Pikeville Man “Testing” Home Security Arrested on Drug Charges

A Pikeville man who claims he was testing his own home security system has been arrested by the police who responded to it.

Pikeville Police say officers responded around 3am Friday to a home on Carter Drive where Randy Keathley was reportedly sitting outside in his truck.

Keathley told the officers he had just installed the system and pressed the panic button to test it.

But according to Mountain Top News, the officers discovered he was wanted on three active warrants and they allege a search of his clothes turned up a large amount of fentanyl.

He was charged with drug trafficking.
