Bridge Named After Founders of Leslie County Fire Department

The founders of the Thousandsticks Volunteer Fire Department have been honored with their names now part of a Leslie County bridge.

Leslie County District 4 Magistrate John Newell, who was the first chief of the department when it was started in 1994, tells WYMT it was all thanks to Amos and Twila Osborne who saw the need for a fire department to cover the community and made it happen.

Last week Newell and other officials, along with the Osborne’s daughter, unveiled the Amos and Twila Osborne Memorial Bridge which is on Big Valley Road off of Bull Creek Road.
