An EMT from Floyd County reportedly faces multiple surgeries being thrown from an ambulance that crashed Sunday night on the Mountain Parkway in Clark County. WYMT reports investigators believe the ambulance driver hit a guardrail and flipped over off the roadway while transporting a patient from Elkhorn City to UK Chandler Hospital. The patient, Deborah Akers, died in the crash and the EMT Alex Wells, who was in the back with her, was thrown out. She had to be flown to a hospital. The organizers of a Go Fund Me says Wells is a single mom with a three-year-old daughter and they are looking to raise $12,000 to help cover medical expenses.
