Owsley County and Perry Central Advance in the Girls 14th Region Tournament

The girls 14th Region basketball tournament got underway last night at Estill County High School at Irvine.

In game one of the opening round 56th District champion Owsley County took care of 53rd District runner up Knott County Central 59-43

In game 2 of the evening, 54th champion Perry County Central won over 55th runner up Wolfe County 73-44.

Two more girls opening round games will be played tonight at Estill County.

At 6:00pm this evening, Breathitt County will face Estill County followed by the 53rd District champion Letcher County Central Lady Cougars taking on Hazard around 7:45pm.

Pregame will begin  around 7:15pm with Michael Watts and Greg “Bull” Creech. 

The girls 14th region semifinals will be Friday night at 6:00 and 7:45 with the championship game Saturday night at 7:30pm all at Estill County. 

The boys 14th Region Tournament will be played at Powell County High School at Stanton and will begin Wednesday evening. 

Wednesday night at 6:00pm, the 53rd District Runner Up, Letcher County Central Cougars will take on the Hazard Bulldogs.

We’ll bring you the LCC-Hazard boys 14th  region game Wednesday night from Powell County with pregame starting at 5:30pm with Michael Watts and Greg “Bull” Creech.

The second boys game Wednesday around 8:00pm will be Breathitt County taking on Estill County.

On Thursday the other two boys opening round games will be played.

At 6:00pm Knott County Central faces Wolfe County and around 8:00pm Perry County Central takes on Powell County.  

The boys 14th region semifinals will be Saturday afternoon at 1:00 and 3:00pm with the championship game Monday at 7:00pm all at Powell County.

We will cover the LCC Cougars and Lady Cougars every game they play in the 14th region tournaments.

The girls KHSAA Sweet 16 State Tournament will be March 13-16 and the boys KHSAA Sweet 16 State Tournament will be March 20-23 and both will be played at Rupp Arena.
