A leak at Louellen Lake that led to the evacuations of several homes near Evarts Wednesday is said to be nearly contained as crews draw down the water to find the source of the leak. Harlan County Judge-Executive Dan Mosley tells WYMT crews have been working steadily since Wednesday with a pump that can remove 1,000 gallons of water per minute and as of Thursday evening had removed six feet of water. Mosley says they are drawing the lake down to a level where they can evaluate the problem. About ten homes had to be evacuated.
