A 15-year prison sentence has been handed down to a Letcher County woman who pleaded guilty to charges related to dragging a child on a motorbike under her pickup truck in 2023.
The Mountain Eagle reports Lisa Fields pleaded guilty to assault, leaving an accident with serious injury, operating under the influence and more for the incident at Fishpond Lake in which police say she dragged the boy for more than 100 feet before stopping.
Her passenger, who was accused of switching seats with her before police arrived, was charged with alcohol intoxication.
The boy needed several surgeries.
